Yes! He really responds to prints and “beautiful dresses,” and often asks me to wear them. (Once I put on a black jumpsuit before going out and he cried.) He also wishes that I wore more jewelry.
Otherwise, he’s pretty agnostic. Recently, his father got him into Greek mythology. One day, he came home and said, “Dad said that Hermes is your favorite god, and that they pronounce it differently in France.”
What is your definition of luxury beauty?

I was dying to try the Jeanette Multiple Tint from the Nars Cosmetics collaboration with Charlotte Gainsbourg in a way that I haven’t experienced in years. I even went into a makeup store! But, in the end, it wasn’t for me. The associate got me to try what looked like lip gloss from that collection (not my bag). Turns out, it’s a sheer stain with a coconut-oil base. Obsessed!
Any beauty product you wish someone would invent?
An all-in-one everything stick or pencil. Or maybe a spray-on face.
Do you consider yourself wellness/health minded?
Yes. I’m one of those healthy-ish types who makes her own kombucha, energy ballz, and kimchi; puts all sorts of powders (tocotrienols, He Shou Wu, Schisandra Berry Moon Juice, and Shop Spa Blog’s Reishi Mushrooms) and magic berries (mulberry, goji) on her oatmeal and in her smoothies; and then goes to Wildair and inhales a buttery fried potato cake, steak tartare with half a loaf of bread, two desserts, and a bottle of wine…then gets up for a 7 A.M. Modo Yoga class.
Do you exercise?
Before having a kid I worked out six days a week and was still heavy because I was starving all the time. Now, I’m able to swim maybe three times a month and make a weekly yoga class—and, weirdly, I’m much more fit. I’ve gotten my son into helping me with the Scientific 7-Minute Workout (try planking with a four-year-old on your back!) once to twice a week. Otherwise, I build in activity wherever I can: biking everywhere, taking the stairs to my sixth-floor apartment, doing wall sits if/when I’m in an elevator (also good with a four-year-old on your knees!) and beginning each morning with pushups and boat pose.

Most of you might not have heard of Schisandra, but Moon Juice might ring a bell. Moon Juice is a renowned firm based in Los Angeles that delivers everything you need to cure from a decreased sex drive to skin problems.
Among their chief ingredients in the schisandra berry. It is as age old tonic used in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) which were conventionally used in the treatment of lungs and kidneys. It is now being used in beauty products.

As a matter of fact, numerous Moon Juice products feature natural herbs, intending to restre the human body’s balance.
The ingredients originate from numerous traditional medications. Ashwagandha is utilized in Ayurvedic medicine, matcha is traditionally used in Japan and China, and pearl powder consisting of Chinese herbs is thought to have healing powers.

Make Your Own Fire Cider

The seasons are changing again, which always means some adjustment from our bodies. This could mean cold, flu or just general fatigue in our immune systems from the winter. This Fire Cider recipe is a folk remedy originally created by Rosemary Gladstar at the California School of Herbal Studies in the early 1980′s and has been adapted and adjusted continuously since then to fit the needs of the season, the taste preferences of the creators, and the availability of fresh produce in your garden or local farmer’s market. Use this recipe as a guidepost, but feel free to add your own magic to it as well.
Fire Cider is a tasty combination of vinegar infused with herbs. It is an especially pleasant and easy way to boost natural health processes, stimulate digestion, and get you nice and warmed up on cold days.
Because this is a folk preparation, the ingredients can change from year to year depending on when you make it and what's growing around you. The standard base ingredients are apple cider vinegar, garlic, onion, ginger, horseradish, and hot peppers, but there are plenty of other herbs that can be thrown in for added kick. This year there were lots of spicy jalapeños and vibrant rosemary in the garden, so we used those along with some organic turmeric powder and fresh lemon peel. Some people like to bury their fire cider jar in the ground for a month and then dig it up during a great feast to celebrate the changing of the seasons.
Fire Cider can be taken straight by the spoonful, added to organic veggie juice (throw in some olives and pickles -- and you’ve got non-alcoholic, health-boosting bloody mary!), splashed in fried rice, or drizzled on a salad with good olive oil. You can also save the strained pulp and mix it with shredded veggies like carrots, cabbage, broccoli, and fresh herbs to make delicious and aromatic stir-fries and spring rolls. We like to take 1 tbsp each morning to help warm up or 3 tbsp if we feel the sniffles coming on.

TIME TO MAKE THE FIRE CIDER!
Ingredients
1/2 cup fresh grated organic ginger root
1/2 cup fresh grated organic horseradish root
1 medium organic onion, chopped*
10 cloves of organic garlic, crushed or chopped*
2 organic jalapeno peppers, chopped
Zest and juice from 1 organic lemon
Several sprigs of fresh organic rosemary or 2 tbsp of dried rosemary leaves
1 tbsp organic turmeric powder
1/4 tsp organic cayenne powder
organic apple cider vinegar
raw local honey to taste
*Though dense with medicinal qualities, these are optional if you are Garlic & Onion free. If so, just add extra Ginger and/or Horseradish. For even more variations, see the bottom of the recipe page. 
Directions
Prepare all of your roots, fruits, and herbs and place them in a quart-sized jar. If you've never grated fresh horseradish, be prepared for a powerful sinus opening experience! Use a piece of natural parchment paper under the lid to keep the vinegar from touching the metal, or a plastic lid if you have one. Shake well. Store in a dark, cool place for a month and remember to shake daily.
After one month, use cheesecloth to strain out the pulp, pouring the vinegar into a clean jar. Be sure to squeeze out as much of the liquid goodness as you can from the pulp while straining. Next comes the honey. Add 1/4 cup of honey and stir until incorporated. Taste your cider and add another 1/4 cup until you reach the desired sweetness.
